About
[mwizard]
encoded techno
[mwizard] is an electronic music artist encoding philosophy into rhythm. Dark techno, spoken word, philosophical depth. Based between Berlin and Zurich. Founder of the Encoded Techno genre and host of Magic D events. The music is the message — ideas delivered through the body, not the mind.
The Philosophy
Encoded Techno starts from a simple observation: people are constantly being encoded — by marketing, algorithms, culture, news — with ideas that shape how they think and act. Most of the time they don’t know it’s happening.
Encoded Techno uses the same mechanism. Consciously. Transparently. And entirely in service of the listener’s own clarity and agency.
Hypnotic rhythm synchronises the body. Spoken word delivers a precise philosophical idea. Not a slogan. Not an instruction. A thought worth having. The listener is left sovereign.
The Story
[mwizard] is Mark Turrell — entrepreneur, technologist, and now electronic music artist. Based between Berlin and Zurich, he founded the Encoded Techno genre and hosts Magic D events.
The debut album Change the Frame was created using AI music tools as creative instruments — Suno for composition, a team of AI specialist personas for production decisions, and human curation throughout. Ten tracks. Three acts. The question of what you actually want, asked at 134 BPM.
